Bread of Life

A community food pantry, serving up produce, dairy, meats, dry goods, and lots of love every Sunday afternoon to residents of Gray-New Gloucester.

Bread of Life Food Pantry

Sundays, 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Located inside the Crossroads Community Church foyer and fellowship hall

COVID-19 Update

Last Updated Saturday, April 4

The Bread of Life Food Pantry is committed to continue serving food to our clients, no matter what. Now is when some of our clients need food aid the most, so as long as there is still a need, we will still offer our response to that need.

While we continue to serve food, we will also continually reevaluate and adjust how we serve food, to ensure that our pantry operates in the safest and healthiest way possible. For now, that adjustment means that we will be serving all of our food out of the Crossroads foyer and porch, instead of the downstairs hall.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in

- Matthew 25:35

Your First Visit

Thinking of visiting the Bread of Life Food Pantry? We would love to meet you.

Drop in any Sunday between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm. As you enter the doors into our foyer, there will be a volunteer at the front desk to greet you. You will be asked to complete a New Client Application as you wait in the foyer.

Once it is your turn to shop, a volunteer or fellow client will walk you through our shopping rooms, explaining our shopping guidelines along the way.

You will leave with a box of food for your family, plus an appointment time for your next week's visit.

Get Involved

We run our prayer. Our food ministry runs on prayer. You are invited to come alongside us in prayer that we might be aligned with what God is doing among our clients and in our community.

Our volunteers pick up food, sort produce, stock shelves, package bulk foods, sign in clients, operate freezers, carry boxes, practice hospitality, and so much more! There's a job for everyone. Our main requirement is that your heart be ready to love on our clients.

Please understand: there is no pressure here. Our goal is not to sway you into a financial donation. Our goal is to bless the GNG community by offering food where it is most needed. If you are also excited about blessing our community and feel led to support us with that goal, then we welcome your financial gift.

Numbers are great. It's fun to see the "countable" aspect of the impact God is creating through us! However, we share this data bearing in mind that our most valuable impact is uncountable: the relationships deepened among our clients and volunteers, and the hope God awakens in our clients' hearts.
